Why did I make it?
My late wife (a graduate of SVA in NYC who passed away young from lung adenocarcinoma) apparently wanted to wear a dress she had imagined for our wedding, so I made one that was as close to her vision as possible. :D
Her image was that of a fairy. It was quite different from an ordinary wedding dress, with a single piece of fabric softly spreading out from the chest. In the front, the fabric curled inward just above the knees, while in the back, the drape flowed naturally like a conventional wedding dress.
We looked at quite a few dresses while shopping for one, but there was nothing that matched her vision. So I decided to make one myself...
Material Procurement
I went looking for fabric in Nippori Textile Town and eventually found what I needed at Tomato, a fabric store there.
The dress wouldn't have the right shape without a petticoat, so I made that too. (I remember the petticoat actually took longer to make.)

Later, one of my wife's friends said, "I'd love to wear it!" and my wife generously gave the dress to her.
